The most valuable service we have to
offer you is a thorough and complete diagnosis of any abnormalities
or disease conditions in your mouth.
This includes a careful evaluation of the soft tissues
of the mouth as well as the teeth.
In addition to careful examination for decay we will check
closely for any gum disease
or bite irregularities. Any necessary x-rays will also be
taken at this time. You will be
seen by our dental hygienist for oral hygiene and advice,
if we feel this is necessary.
Our group practice
provide a full range of dental services:
Full
Range of Private and NHS treatment
We carry out all
forms of NHS and private treatment currently available, and
operate Denplan Care, which is a nationwide private scheme
that involves a small monthly contribution to cover any necessary
private dentistry.
Cosmetic
Dentistry
Tooth Whitening,
Implants, Veneers and Reconstruction Work. We use all the
latest equipment and techniques in modern dentistry to allow
us to whiten teeth, close gaps, lengthen, shorten or straighten
teeth and to replace metal fillings with those indiscernible
from your natural tooth.
Children
Barring unforeseen
circumstances such as tooth injury, discolouration of teeth
etc., a child should be seen for his/her first visit around
the age of 6 months. At this visit, we will try to make “fun”
for the child, familiarising them with the surgery, chair
and other equipment. If the child feels relaxed and happy
with the surgery environment future visits will be easier.
If possible, we will examine the child’s teeth and discuss
the best way of keeping his or her teeth healthy. Our dental
hygienist will fissure seal (plastic coat) teeth we feel would
benefit from this treatment and will discuss and teach oral
hygiene including various Fluoride Treatments available which
will help strengthen the tooth enamel.
Orthodontics
If we feel that
orthodontic treatment may be required for you or your child,
he will refer you to the orthodontist or tackle the simpler
cases here within the practice. Orthodontic treatment may
be required where the teeth are crowded or misaligned. This
will improve their appearance and efficiency and help ensure
the health of teeth, gums and joints in later life.
Emergencies
Your discomfort
is our immediate concern. In the case of an emergency, call
immediately and we shall arrange for you to be seen as soon
as possible. We operate an out of hours emergency service
for urgent cases, run through Glasgow Dental Hospital by Glasgow
dentists. This out of hours emergency number can be obtained
from our answer service.
We respect our patients
time and make every effort to remain on schedule. We also
try to complete treatment in as few visits as possible. We
would appreciate 24 hours notice if an appointment time must
be changed.
